Biography
Coming from Shenzhen, China, Caiyue "Michaelangelo" Xu received his bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics from the Southern University of Science and Technology. During his undergraduate studies, he mainly focused on single-cell RNA-seq analysis of the tumor microenvironment. He joined the Baker lab in June 2026 and is studying computational techniques to identify T cell molecular mimics in the context of MHC proteins. Caiyue is a super fan of Star Wars, Formula One racing, and football (the round kind), and he can (and sometimes does) talk about these non-stop for a whole day, which paradoxically only enhances his productivity.
